Jambiya for comment
Hello friends,
Digging through a box of items acquired years ago, I found this jambiya: Hilt: Possibly ebony or horn grip. Blade: 5 ¼ inches long, sharp both sides, shows some wear but no nicks or serious damage. Sheath: all metal Total length excluding sheath: 9 ¾ inches Is this one "for the traveler" or something a bit more interesting? Possible origin? I welcome your comments. Best Regards, Dave A. |

Syrian khnajar, better grade "for the traveler" and retains a humble collector's value, as the blade is tempered steel. Lower grade one looks the same but is all-cast of brass, sometimes even not plated.

Thank you
Tip of the hat to you sir! I am sure you are to generous when you say "humble value". Now I remember why I put it in the box!
