Default Kukri with ivory hilt

Kukri, another arena I know nothing about. I picked it up just recently. I really like the shaped of the hilt and being carved from ivory, was the kicker.
It's on the smaller side, I think. Measures 16 inches, with the blade being 12 inches.

Is it Indian, Nepali????? Age? Comments?

It sure does look like Ivory; but what is that material in the center of the sunburst/flower near the brass bolster ?
It looks kind of volcanic .....

It looks like cement in the middle of a vein hole.
