Hello Henri,
IMHO this is a non-traditional keris blade made on the Malay peninsula; craftmanship and surface treatment support a recent origin (within the last decades). I don't think this blade style can be included under the pandai seras label; the pendokok isn't suitable for a tajong (nor coteng) hilt - can you post some pics of the hilt, please? No scabbard? Regards, Kai |

You were able to avoid it. Searching in the Forum for information takes time, yet it should be done: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ghlight=tajong

I moved this to the keris section where it belongs. Hopefully Henri you feel just a little bit better about this purchase after reading the thread Gustav linked to.

Yes, I have owned this keris two years ago and sold it again by ebay which a fair description and surprisingly I get back nearly my money. It was sold inside Europe and now it is in Australia!
I think I have written in the thread Gustav posted at this place what I think byself about this keris. I hope that Henri have the same good luck like I am when I get short time later a good old Tajong by a very good price, look here: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ghlight=tajong I hope that you, Henri, don't pay to much for this one. Regards, Detlef |
