Default Sleeper awaken!

This sword was put on E-Bay by some scmuck who had no idea what it was. A classic sleeper, if I ever saw one.

Then, some goody-two-shoes decided to educate the poor schnook and to demonstrate his ( her? unlikely) deep knowledge of Stone's Glossary.
Within moments, the item was taken off the market, and relisted with a new price:

Who the hell was the smart aleck? This person should be drawn and quartered, tarred and feathered and forbidden to play a Good Samaritan for the duration of his natural life or until cows come home ( Whichever comes last!)

You know, that has happened to me more than once. I suppose I understand it if the person lists it as "African" for example when its actually from SEA, because of accuracy issues. Other than that I'm not sure why a person who finds such a listing wouldn't actually try to buy it for themselves... For those of us who pride ourselves on our ebay searching ability, it surely is a let-down.

In this particular case the original listing had "Antique" and "Sword" in it so I highly doubt it would have slept very soundly. I'm a big fan of the "coconut knife" myself.

Oops thanks Katana, hadn't noticed. Our posts crossed, sorry.

Sorry. Missed the re-list.
From now on I shall be feverishly looking for "coconut knives" and "curved sowrds"
Thanks for the tip!

The auction is over, " the item is no longer available for sale"
Rick, can we get URLs back?
Any opinions on that panabas?

I don't think I can find the original URL .

Anyway, this is a classic case of 'a little knowledge....'
The Panabas in question looked like a souvenir example to me .
