Turkish Dagger?
Hello All!
I just bought this off Ebay the other day. I have seen several of these knives and have wanted one for a while, and I have finally got one. I have seen these attributed to Turkey is this correct? I think it may be Early 20th century. It seems crude so it might be a tourest knife but I still like it! Any comments are welcome. Mark... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...0%3D%26fvi%3D1 |

Hi Aurangzeb,
I have one of these....in fact you posted my thread on this particular dagger....like you, I like mine also.....its crude but it does have it's own 'charm'. Battara, could you please explain why you think this type of knife originates from Ethiopia as yet, I have no conclusive proof of where my dagger came from...... |

Gentlemen
I do believe this is a type of shula dagger it really does not strike me as being Turkish it seems more North African or Morrocan. The blade are almost identical to the shulas. I must disagree with Battara the dagger is not Ethiopian in any way. Lew |

Hello Lew!
I know what you mean about it not looking very Turkish, I also see what you mean about it looking North African. This is just a guess but maybe these daggers come from Libya, once again only a guess. Is this theroy possible or not??? Mark... |

Dagger Pix
Here are some pictures of the dagger. I am suprised that the blade is good quality but thin, and it is sharp.
