Default Katipunan Officers dagger

I got this puppy from our good friend Rsword (Maraming Salamat Dude!) Spunger and I saw this at the Lousville show back in Feb and we both think it is Katipunan. I also think it is an officer's dagger. The blade rings with struck, the mounts are all made of brass, the hilt itself is made of horn, and the scabbard is leather with silver mounts. I tore out the remnants of barely remaining brass twist wire on the hilt and replaced them with full twist wire and replaced the missing brass flat wire strip.

Thought I'd share for comments. Pictures sent to Rick for resizing.

Enjoy - Jose

Hi Battera,
Like you often say, Nice Puppy!! If you ever want to part with this piece please let me know. Total agreement on it's origin. Nice work on restoration. Are both sides of the blade the same or is one side flat? Again a very nice addition to your collection.

Thanks Robert. Both Spunjer's eyes and mine popped when we saw it.

Spunjer what do you mean?

It's a nice dagger but it just isn't my cup of tea. Reminds of the a WW2 British commando dagger.

Oh yeah....I forgot. He was asking an outrageous price thinking it was European - and he was Russian!

Robert, it is not flat on the other side but the cross section is a diamond shape. A well made puppy.
