Default NORTH AFRICAN/YEMENI OR OMAN POWDER FLASKS

A recent Acquisition of Powder Flasks one is from North Africa also found in Afganistan,is made of wood covered with leather, the back of the flask shows the crude stiching and the handmade eyelets.there is a decoration on the front face, the decoration has 2 round brass inserts.there is a wooden slide with a hole in it,when the slide is in proper position-powder can flow in the spout. The flask is 170mm[6.7 inches spout included.the max width is 160 mm.
The second one is from Yemen or Oman,I like the semi precious stones
Size 20 cmx19 cm x8.3 cm and weight is 520 gms

Also last picture of the one from same region which I did not win

Hi Rajesh,
Nice flasks. I have a similar Afghani flask with a different method of powder cut off. Activated by the loop on the left side.......pic attached. Also the spout on mine is metal whereas yours looks to be wood.

Hi Bandook

Nice find. Congratulations. Those Afghan style leather covered wood flasks seemed to have been very popular in the Region. You find many original examples. I have three myself. This one I was lucky to find is extra nice condition. You often see this style of flask mounted on Afghan gun belts.
