Default Eastern or western pistol barell?

This is a very nice pistol barell.
Firearms are not my speciality but i have been advised that this is a European pistol barell from the 17th or 18th century. Do you think that it is European or islamic?
What about the damascus pattern on the barell? Is it typical of a period or place? What about the age and rarity of this item?
I would be gratefull for your contributions.

Looks like a tulip, the most beloved Turkish flower.

Also the damascus on the barrel looks to be Persian, so it may be Turkish or Persian - definitely Islamic, not European (unless by trade).

Very nice, impressive.

Very little doubt. Could be of European manufacture but certainly for the Islamic/Turkish market. The fluted barrel mouth is a bit of a give away I think.
