Default Mandau (small) for comment

I recently acquired a small mandau. Looks old. But I am not sure whether it is a tourist souvenir piece.

Please kindly comment.

Hello Alexish,

Small. But how small. Do you have measurements ?

The blade does not look like a tourist piece.
The scabbard carvings are really nice.
The handle could be more recent in my opinion.

Best regards,
Willem

Default Tribal origin of mandau

The blade length is 37 cm, and the overall length is 52 cm.

Can someone tell me the tribal origin of the mandau - i.e. Kayan, Iban?

Default Coin on small mandau handle

Can someone tell me the talismanic significance of having a coin on the mandau handle.

I hereby enclose pictures of the coin on my small mandau.
