Default what is this spear?

i got this from a japanese surplus shop, they do not know what it is. i am trying to look for similar images in the internet but cannot find any.

can anybody tell me anything about this? is this a weapon or just a farm or garden tool?

Hi
Looks very like the handle on a wood turning chisel, form of " Blade" does not look like something you would use wood turning though.
Just my taught

Are the edges of the outer prongs sharp? it reminds me of a tool I used to cut holes, by spinning the tool, in gaskets.

yes the outer prongs are a bit sharp and thin. yes maybe this is a woodworking tool then.

This is, I think, another Oriental woodworking tool as noted.

Quick google of wood turning chisel found many images such as attached
Tool head does not look like something I recognise, but tools are often altered for specific jobs
