I WENT ONCE A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND SAW A LOT OF VERY GOOD MUSEUM GRADE WEAPONS AND ART AND HAD A FINE TIME. I LIKE SANTA FE AND USED TO GO OVER IN THE WINTER TO SKI AND HANG AROUND TOWN.
THE SHOW IS A GOOD ONE AND WORTH A VISIT BUT THE PRICES ARE DEFINITELY ETHINOGRAPHIC ART AS IN CHRISTIES,AND SOUTHBYS NOT SWORD COLLECTOR PRICES. I CAN LEARN BUT MY TASTE IS TOO GOOD FOR MY POCKETBOOK SO I USUALLY JUST WEAR A BIB AND GO AROUND DROOLING THERE ARE ALSO SOME GOOD RESTURANTS, SIGHTSEEING AND GALLERIES.

THE SHOW WAS GREAT AS USUAL I MANAGED TO FIND 3 SEPARATE SHOWS AND A LARGE FLEA MARKET. I FOUND 3 ITEMS AT THE FLEA MARKET AT A GOOD PRICE AND TWO AT THE LOWEST PRICED ETHINOGRAPHIC SHOW. THERE WERE SOME EXCELLENT EXAMPLES OF SOUTH PACIFIC WAR CLUBS (I SAW 3 WHICH WERE THE BEST EXAMPLES OF THEIR TYPES I HAVE SEEN THEY WERE ALL ALREADY SOLD TO A DEALER IN FRANCE). THERE WERE EXCELLENT EXAMPLES OF AMERICAN INDIAN WAR CLUBS, KNIVES, BOWS,ECT.
I SAW ONE KRIS,ONE AXE AND ONE NICE MONSTERHEAD BOLO HANDLE SO PHILIPPINE AND MORO ITEMS WERE NOT VERY WELL REPRESENTED. I TOOK SOME PICTURES OF THE ONE DEALERS ITEMS THAT HAD SOME PHILIPPINE ,DAYAK AND OTHER ITEMS, THE BONTOC AXE WAS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN. THERE WERE NOT A LOT OF EDGED WEAPONS THERE THIS YEAR, THE FLEA MARKET HAD MORE THAN ALL THREE SHOWS PUT TOGETHER BUT THEY WERE MOSTLY AFRICAN VERY POOR QUALITY ITEMS. I SENT THE PICTURES OFF TO RICK FOR HIM TO WORK ON AS I CAN'T GET MY SOFTWARE TO CROP OR LIGHTEN OR ANYTHING TO WORK. I HAD PLANNED TO TAKE A FEW MORE PICTURES BUT MY BATTERY GOT WEAK.

I WILL TRY AND TAKE SOME PICTURES OF THE ITEMS I BOUGHT SOON AND POST THEM AND WILL MAKE COMMENTS ON THE PICTURES RICK POSTS. ALL IN ALL A VERY WORTHWHILE TRIP AND SANTA FE IS STILL A GREAT TOWN TO VISIT.

* I think it was the flourescent lighting Barry.
