Default Sewar 2 for comment

Hi
The second one out of the bundle of 4 from todays arrival. A sewar with ivory. I think the oberlay of the scabbard is silverplated. Looks like a little bit that copper or brass is shining thru.

Best Thomas

This is nice.

It's not copper showing through as in it is silver plated, but the patina cue to the copper alloyed into the silver. Without the copper added, the silver would be way too soft to be durable and functional.

Hello Thomas,

Another really nice piece!

It apparently lost a sleeve from silver alloy on the hilt. BTW, are that gnaw marks from rats/rodents along the lower edge of the pommel?

The silver alloy cover on the scabbard is unusual with its different motifs in the 4 main sections - how does the other side look? How well does it fit the blade?

Regards,
Kai
