Two Caucasian Knives
These two knives were described as: "Two Caucasian Knives with single-edged blades, stamped on one side with a cutler's mark, bone hilt studded with numerous minute rondels of horn and brass...".
Are these Caucasian indeed? I noticed one blade has heat-treated edge. Would appreciate ANY information as per origin, age, rarity and value-(via PM, if you mind). Thanks! Last edited by ALEX; 2nd January 2009 at 09:06 PM. |

Nope. Bosnian. Likely, Sarajevo.

Thank you guys!
I thought they do not look Caucasian, but this was the exact description from one of the famous auctions. Another prove that even the major auction houses make mistakes:-) |
