Default Old Shona Axe For Comment

Hi All

Picked up this nice Shona axe in trade with another formite. It looks old great patina on handle with real nice wire braiding could be late 19th century? The Blade is around 3/16" thick!

Tim

Were these axes used in combat or are they just a status symbol?

There are status ones, but yours has a fairly long reach and a nice heavy blade and is surely made to take harlf a face off . Tim
