Salaams mrasingh ~ see http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ht=blade+marks #153 and 154 refers. Often framed with 3 dots and in this case a T or a cross perhaps... Like many blade marks inscribed later to copy or mirror the original mark as has been done with Passau Wolf, moon marks and in this case "sickle marks" sometimes called hogsback or eyelash marks.. Regards, Ibrahiim al Balooshi. |

Hi mrasingh
Your pesh seems to be a relatively modern recently made item I'm afraid. It's certainly been extensively reworked recently and I think the horn grips are definately recent. The markings and position on the blade might indicate that a section of an old blade was used. The steel is unlikely to show any activity, but you could try etching it for confirmation. |

Agreed, this looks like modern refurbishing using old components, and this does seem like a reworked old blade with remnants of some marking. Some very old markings from N. Italy have dual parallel half circles, much in the same theme as mentioned by Ibrahiim.
The heavy bolster and grips suggest Afghan regions in my view. |
