Need ID for Two Axes
I need an ID for these two axes. Pretty sure the one on the left with the trade blade is African. Not so sure of the other. Is similar to Malaysian axes I have seen. Thanks in advance, M.P.

No other comments? These must be really boring axes. M.P.

The one on the left - the shaft is from a Shona (Zimbabwe) axe, the raised part at the top of the wood is typical. The "herb-chopper" blade does not belong I think.
The axe on the right looks like from a bit further north, maybe Rotse (Zambia). Probably a village headman's "badge of office" - being part of his costume. Regards. |
