Spanish Sword, early 18thc? Makers mark
Just picked up this Spanish Sword.
What date range does this fit? Any ideas about the Makers Mark? Its the same on both sides, difficult to read but appears to be LEGAPRA. Theres a Crowned I on one side. Last edited by templarnight; 26th April 2012 at 07:00 PM. |

Cavalry, mid-end 18th century.
One guard shell appears to be larger than the other, which makes it be the traditional "boca de caballo" (horse's mouth). The name on the blade would be the maker's mark, but it sounds funny for a Spanish name. |
