Dear frends.
1. FREDERICK BARNES has stopped the work in 1904. But on a handle a monogram of GeograV. Somebody can explain it? 2. To me words SWORD CUTLERS TO THE WAR OFFICE aren't clear? Usually the officer bought a sword only from the private companies? 3. Somebody knows a brand on a hilt? I will be grateful for the answer. Respect, Alexander. |

Hi,
Manufacturers of this sword is Fenton brothers. Firm established in 1875 at South Moor Works, East Street, Sheffield by John Frederick Fenton and Frank Fenton. The firm was converted into a limited liability company in 1896 under the style Fenton Brothers Ltd. The company is a manufacturer and jewelry. The rest will tell other members. |

Dear sisi_d. I have mixed instead of John Frederick Fenton and Frank Fenton, I have sent Frederick Barnes. It is my error. I am sorry. On a hilt I have read a brand. Remains not clear as the military brand is combined with firm Fenton? Respect, Alexander.
