A sangu or is it?
A MOST unusual spear
Recently gained this for my collection, from a friend who knows his subject and even he didn't know what it was. We can guess that its Indian, due to the concept of the blade being concealed within a screw mount and the style of butt but has anyone ever seen a Indian all steel spear or anything with such a large concealed spike. I guess by the possition of the screw thread that this is only half the original weapon and even at that it measures 58" long. Could it have been a standard? What era, region? All thoughts appreciated. Cheers Andy P.S Thanks for your advice earlier Jens but I thought I'd open it for opinions here also |
