Dear friends,
I need some help. I bought this sword without knowing its origin, I just liked it immediately, despite it is a little bit clumsy. It is rather large, 95 cm, and quite heavy. The scabbard is made of wood with a leather cover. All metal parts are of iron. No inscriptions or marks on them. I would guess that it comes from Central Asia and would appreciate your comments. Thanks in advance! |

What you have is a Chinese sword from the Boxer Rebellion period. It is non-military issue. These swords were locally produced for use by civilians in the uprisings.
