Default Unusual large Moro barung

A large heavy barung with a swedged spine for almost its entire length. The back edge is peaked but not sharpened. This treatment of the spine is unusual on barung, but not unique. I have seen examples of barung with much shorter swedges before, but not as long as this one. The hilt has a long, heavily patinated, brass ferrule (punto) with overlaying strips of braided fibers. Scabbard is plain with Tausug designs at the throat. Early 20th C dress. Barung is in very good condition.

Length of blade = 20.5 in.
Maximum width = 2.4 in.
Hilt = 5.5 in
Overall length in scabbard = 27 in.

Price: USD 375.00, plus shipping from Australia

Please note: This item is offered here at a discount to members for two weeks. If not sold in that time, I shall list it online at a higher price.
