Hi All, this was my 1st purchase of Islamic armour over 10 years ago. The set includes a Dhal, Bazu band and a Khula Khud. All have the same decoration. All have silver caligraphy around the perimeter while the Dhal also has a gold cartouch in the centre. I was hoping someone could read the cartouch for me. I have had several Persian clients look at this Dhal and the best they could come up with is a reference to King Nadir. I believe this set of armour is parade armour circa 1860.
I welcome the expertise of the forum. I'll post detailed scans of the armour once I figure out how to properly set up my Canon EOS Rebel. If anyone can help me with camera setting as well - great. I would love to share you all my much loved armour. Regards, Greg ![]() |

The bottom word is sultan I think, and the number is 53. I'm sure some one else can decipher it. I am just showing off that I have been working on learning how to read Arabic.
