In searching old threads, and notes, these type swords are sort of between large dagger and dirk, and seem to be from the Nile regions between 3rd and 4th cataracts (Dongola)...north of Omdurman and Khartoum.
While its hard to isolate forms etc. to certain tribes and regions of course, one of the key tribes in these Nile regions were the Shaigiya (info onWiki).

The open hilt (no guard) is very much like the often lizard skin covered knives with similar blade incising , with these often en suite with smaller knives for utility use.

These edged weapons are so fascinating, and regardless of age they represent the tribal traditions that have ever remained in place even into modern times.
