I see nothing wrong with your gile dagger. It's probably post WW2 and I think it is quite nice. I was thinking about bidding on that one but could not get a clear picture of it from the seller. Seeing that it was made from a file and forged to shape means it is a good quality blade. Hey if you really don't like it you can always find a way to get rid of it
