The Deer hoof pictured is the origenal handle. The wood one on it I made myself as a stop gap measure. Personally I like the stag handle I put on it, I got the idea off of another Czechoslovakian dagger I saw on a web page with a stag handle. I will try to find the link. About the fur falling out, quite true I saw one from Austria that was completley "Bald"
