Default MAKING OF A WOOTZ SHAMSHIR

I had a pleasure of attending a lecture about Persian carpets. I was amazed by the effort and time it takes to make one carpet. One of the best carpets were, and still are, produced in Isfahan, Iran. Coincidentally the same area where the most beautiful wootz shamshirs were, but not anymore, produced. On average, it takes a whole year to make a good wool or silk carpet, and the process involves many people and even families (Think about it - a whole year!!!). I am so curious to find out how much it took to produce a wootz shamshir. Are there any references to the amount of time and effort it takes (actually took!) to make one wootz blade?
