Does anyone have pictures of the warriors that would carry the Kalasan?
It would be great if you could post them.
I've ordered a couple books to study the weapons of the Indonesian archipelago. One is Traditional Weapons of the Indonesian Archipelago. Any other suggestions?
The more I study the Kalasan the more I love it. Its just a fantastic sword. It feels so good in the hand. I noticed a small chip in the cutting edge in the center of the blade swell. I've been told that the chips usually mean the blade has incountered bone. If there is a "V" shaped nick it is another sword blade. Any ideas on the validity of this? It feels like it would have been a great cutting slashing and chopping weapon. I also found an Indonesian martial arts book, The Weapons and Fighting Arts of Indonesia , I hope will inlighten me as to the use of this weapon.
I hope you all can help out a little more. Thanks for everything so far.
