I may be wrong but I usually associate a kilij with a thinner blade while the pala is later (19c for example) with a wider blade like the two you show here. None of these are fakes and look honest...

Normally I'm for restoration, but in this case, I think this is an exception. Keep it as is for the history and provenance. Besides, it is beyond good reasonable restoration.

Kai is right in his assessment. Horn is tough stuff. Sometimes on higher ranked pieces you might find metal like brass or steel/iron rapping the bottom.
