Here is the other Visayan sword I have. It is from the highlands of Panay Island. I restored one missing ear, part of the missing nose, and made the scabbard.

Here is my only talibon. It was captured by American forces. Inscribed on the scabbard is "Captured Tubigan, Bohol, July 1901" in fading ink. I did some restoration to the hilt.

Yes, but some Moros lived in Borneo and traded with the Sea Dayaks as well.

And some tribes like the Moro Iranun had kampilans on their larger boats.

Hard to tell. Nice that it has a scabbard and mansala cloth. It once had a metal "eye" on each side of the hilt.

It could possibly be Maranao based on the okir on the hilt, but Iranian hilts...

Here is another horn carved sword I have that Miguel Diaz (from the past) states is also Tagalog. Though some of the scabbard leather is missing, it is pierced.

Ragnar, this is an expensive blade, and the horn hilt probably had twisted silver wire in some of the crevices. I'm wondering if the bronze on this was added later to replace silver mounts.
