It is genuine! A genuine Chinese fake that is. No doubt about it; acid
etched blade, kissaki (point) geometry wrong, mounts incorrect for
shingunto. Be glad your gut saved you some money.

Could very well be a "dress" bayonet. Many were used strickly for
"dress" or parade wear to be worn at the side and not mounted on
the rifle, hence no rail to fit the gun.
