Small Keris
6 Attachment(s)
I found this Keris 4 yrs. ago. I had it the scabbard and hilt repaired and the blade stained. I was told that the blade is forged from a broken blade.
Any other information would be greatly appreciated. |
Nice keris. Looks very good.
The pamor is pamor tambal. Pamor tambal is usually made up of pieces of another keris, inlaid into an existing one. This other keris will have had a high esoteric value, like for instance an old pusaka, wich is expected to be transferred to the excisting keris. Those who believe this will hold pamor tambal in high regard. Others have a derogatory opinion: "a patched up keris". So the answer on the remark that you was told that the blade is forged from a broken blade is yes and no. |
Kino, i really like this keris. It looks like a the pamor tamal is added over some kind of pamor sada saler.
I think i would fall into the camp that would tend to believe that if you added some of an old and powerful keris into a new one with directed intention then it would make that new keris a more valuable and powerful pusaka. :) |
Aaahhh, yes of course. Thanks for jogging my brain. That's what I was told a few years ago. I didn't write it down and didn't commit it to memory. Thanks again.

There is also "kendhit mimang" in your ganja. A bold line, in the middle, along the ganja. According to local belief in Java, a keris with "kendhit mimang" in the ganja is good for the owner against theft... |
Kino I think your keris blade is fascinating.......
|
Ganjawulung- Thanks for the additional info.
Battara- I also find the blade fascinating and odd. |
Pak Alan / Pak Ganja and other keris knowlegables,
This question has more or less related to this topic, so pls bear with me :) If an old keris blade is reforged, would the yoni disappeared from the original blade? What if an old blade believed to be imbued by "Sumyang" type isi, would any empu / pande reforge such a blade? Thx in advance. |

But according to some local belief in Jawa (you may ask Mr Oesman, he is experienced on spiritual matter in keris like this, I think), "yoni in keris will be gone if the keris blade undergoes heat treatment..." (Pls forgive me for my late response) But according to Bali tradition, according to Ketut Mudra (a traditional keris smith in Klungkung, Bali), "forging place for keris (besalen) is a holy place, where god Brahma usually passes on his spiritual strength to kerises...," Ganjawulung |
