Bought this a few years ago from John Powell. He was supposed to send me info, but ....... Scratch thread reminded me and I thought that I would post it and ask for comments.

Thanks

Hello Mr Marsh,
I would be interested to learn what significance the pommel configuration amplifies. A stupa?
Thanks for sharing this comparitive example, Bill :)
I hope some authorities engage subject.
This piece looks like a Nepalese fighting piece, to me
Kind regards,
Dan :)

Hi Scratch,

Don't know about a stupa. Could be.

Piece was sold to me as a military piece with armoury marking. Nepal.

As far as I understand, these are symbolic stupas.
