New Mini Lantaka
4 Attachment(s)
K Pasta, Dudes?
Thought I would share my latest trade/acquisition. It is a mini lantaka that is 15.5 inches and 23 inches with the wooden handle. The bands on it are rattan, all with patina. I am not sure if it is Moro or Borneo, unlike my other lantaka that is Moro without question. Rare to have the rattan and bamboo (at bottom) bands on one. Enjoy :) |
Sweet Jose !!
Wouldn't you just love to put a light charge of black powder in it and give it a voice again ? ;) :) I know I would .... :D |
AGREED!!

CONGRATS JOSE, I LIKE IT!!!
NOW YOU ARE ALL SET FOR THE FORTH OF JULY AND NEW YEARS EVE, IT SHOULD MAKE QUITE A LOUD NOISE OF CELEBRATION. WHAT DOES YOUR MORO ONE LOOK LIKE FOR CAMPARISON OF SIMULARITYS AND DIFFERENCE. |
Jose, that is a really neat Lantaka! You even got the wooden arm! BIG congrats!
I would not go more than a light charge IF you fire it at all and certainly not any kind of projectile! |
Looks awesome, and somehow familiar! Fire it???!!...not while I'm around. I hate rattan splinters.
Congrats on a lovely, and true, conversation piece. |
Oh man, that's too cool!
Congrats my friend! Steve |
Many thanks friends!
No plans to light - want to keep the "big bang" to a theory. Vandoo - the Moro lantaka is nearly 1/2 the length overall an more elaborate with okir. This one is plainer. What is nice is both have been fired and are correct, not fakes. |
I wanted to bring this thread back up again because I am having problems determining if this is Brunei/Borneo or Moro.
Any help would be of benefit. |
No ideas from anyone? :(
