Nice cement job on a patio. What are you complaining about?

galvano 25th May 2007 10:08 PM

ok

ok for the nice cement job on a patio.
I do not see anything other.

Nice Work !

Exposed aggregate; I'm impressed.
That's very labor intensive work; the stones have to be absolutely clean or they will pop out; also there is an art to scattering the stones on the wet concrete. ;) :D

About the Jambiya; will you attempt to polish it?

Michael Blalock 26th May 2007 01:14 AM

Actually Rick, those are precast exposed aggregate pavers. Made in a factory just like that Jambiya. Not very labor intensive but with cheap labor. Mexico for the pavers and India for the Jambiya. That's the case with most things these days.

Rick 26th May 2007 01:29 AM

Yeah Michael, you're correct they are pre-made (like everything else these days).
They just brought back memories of my years in the concrete biz doing E.A. walks. ;) :D

Michael Blalock 26th May 2007 01:51 AM

Yup, I'm in the business myself. Nothing like a good Marshalltown trowel from the old days compared to the low quility they put out now. The rivets are always poping out long before the blade has worn down.

Rick 26th May 2007 01:59 AM

Yes, my concrete name was 'Dances with Power Trowel' . ;) :D
But we digress.....

ariel 26th May 2007 04:27 AM

We have discussed Mexican swords in the past; what's wrong about discussing Mexican pre-mixed concrete? It's ethnographic, for sure.

Lew 26th May 2007 03:59 PM

OK guys this is getting very silly lets stick to ethnographic weapons please

I love it...thank you. :D

The knife decor looks like it is made of white metal by what I can tell by the patina (looks a little greenish). I would say tourist. Not the best "floor model" I have ever seen (though it does seem "grounded").... :p

Rick 27th May 2007 02:08 AM

Pun-ishment

They don't call you the 'Closer' for nothing, Jose . ;) :D :D

Battara 27th May 2007 06:23 PM

And more with the - :D :D :D

Battara 27th May 2007 06:45 PM

BTW Rick,

A friend once told my wife, "...yeah but a good pun will clear out a room..." :D
