a portuguese pike
 

When i bought this piece, in a not distant area of county manor houses, the shop owner told me it was of local provenance, and the person he bought it from, said it used to make part of the house defences. Probably made by a local smith, i ignore whether the markings belong to the maker, which i doubt, or represent the client's house marks, as well emphasized in both blade sides.
Any of you members ever seen this type of marking, or the marking criteria applied in these weapons at such period ... what period ?
I classified it as a pike ( "pique" ), hope it's correct.
