Help on sword ID
2 Attachment(s)
Recently picked this one up. Was told it might be spanish, and old, but have doubts. total length is 40 inches, with handle being 7, solid and heavy steel. grip has been wound with waxed string(?), but seems newer to me. the whole sword seems questionable. any ideas and age or type, maybe a prop?

I have a similar sword dating to about 1970:
