A bangkung for enjoy and discussion

I have recently acquired my first bangkung. I guess end 19th to early 20th century. I am in progress to polish the blade to give it a light etch but I am not sure if the blade is laminated.
Any comments on age and exact origin?
Last picture shows it together with some other Moro blades for size comparison.

67 cm overall, blade 51 cm, 9,65 mm thick behind the handle, 591 gram, no scabbard.

Congrats on an absolutely beautiful example. The hilt and pommel are among the most unusual styles I have seen, and I really like that “big dipper” pommel.

Very nice find Sajen. It’s clean and in good order. I like that pommel as well. Congrats!

Hello Albert,

Thank you. The blade has had partly thick rust spots and it will need a little bit more time until I can try an etch.
Any clue from where it could originate exactly?

Regards,
Detlef
