My friends offered me this sabre.
Appearingly it comes from Poland. Please help me to identify it.
There is a stamp "L. Morawski Ska w Warszawie"

Yes, I would vote for Polish origin, "Ska" could be the abbreviation for Spolka, that means "company". Wolviex should be able to tell you more about this sabre.

This is a Polish cavalry saber pattern 1917 yr.
This pattern (with stamped-out pommel cap) was manufactured by the companies belonging to Borowski, Morawski (Warsaw) and Stortz (Kracow). The other type, with solid caps and an engraving of oval with rays on the crossguard was made by "ARMA" belonging to Grendensky and Kawetsky in Lviv.
The NCO variant of the same saber had a wooden hilt that was painted black

Polish enlisted mans cavalry sabre model 1917.
The scabbard is an incorrect replacement, as is the pommel screw cap.
Morawski i Ska (i Ska = & Company) is the maker of the handle. The blade should have its own maker's mark among others.
What are the markings on the blade?
