Unique and Attractive Parang
4 Attachment(s)
This unique parang seems to borrow from a number of influences including European, Ottoman, and Indonesian/Malay.
I am curious about what others think about its place of manufacture. Dimensions: Overall length: 31.25in. Blade length 19.5in. Blade width at the forte: 1.25in. Blade wide width at the yelman: 1.75in. |
One piece cast hilt?
East Borneo; Sea Dyak perhaps? |
Hello Charles,
A most interesting sword! :) It remind me to the beladah belabang from scabbard style and blade profile. So South Borneo would be my guess. Also the cast brass hilt would point in this direction IMVHO. Regards, Detlef |
