Hi Guys,
To fix an unfair situation, Rick has one, Rajesh has one, Stu has two of them. http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...highlight=sind http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ghlight=sindhi http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ghlight=jezail http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ighlight=sindi I think these guns are much more elegant than the classic and common Afghan ones... Mine is broken and needs to be fixed... Kubur |
Hi Kubur,
Very nice Sindhi and I love the MOP decoration. Yes I agree you need to get the repairs done as it will improve matters considerably. The damage does not look too bad and IMHO with careful TLC will come up well. Stu |
Hi Kubur
Congratulations. Yes, it looks like it will need some work done to it. Considering it's current condition, it's amazing the stock seems to have retained all of the pearl inlays except for the area missing wood. The brass strap used as a period repair from a stock break at the wrist area. The thin butt stock with the wide wrist area combination making this a weak point in the stock design. Mine has a period repair in this area also. Never the less they continued to keep this stock design. Bit of a mystery to me. Is the barrel rifled ? Every one I've seen is rifled. Rick |
The bore on Kubur's gun looks to be rifled judging by the pic of the muzzle. As an aside, that restored one of mine has an absolutely pristine rifled bore. I had not (until yesterday) scrubbed it out with a dry bronze brush. Approx 2 heaped teaspoons full of dry rust came out

Hi guys,
Fully restored, not as original with kicks of time... :) |
That looks much better. Can you please post a pic of the area where the woodwork was replaced. Also (just as a suggestion) some minor rebending of the trigger guard would make it look even better.
