Who is brave enough to stick his neck out ( or, as South Africans say" Put his cock on the block") to attribute and date this archeological sensation?

I also thought this, although so masked it could be anything) the "patina" looks unnatural too.

Kubur and Alex,
You have just shared a Nobel Prize!

Yup, just a rusty Russian bebut, 1907 pattern, likely brought to Germany as a result of WWI.

The same seller also is selling ( likely sold already) one rusty pickaxe and one rusty axe from what looks like Sears catalogue. Both were also presented as ancient Viking treasures, covered with blood and entrails of fallen enemies..

The funny thing, he is also selling a lot of genuine archeological finds. I have a feeling he was not trying to deceive: likely it was an insane self-deception...

But no matter what.... Caveat Emptor!
