Knife for ID

The knife in its sheath is 37.5 cms long. The handle is made of bone, the sheath is wood covered with very strange leather (very hard), old brass fittings. The blade fits the sheath perfectly. All parts are original. Islamic era 1309 is engraved on the blade (which is 1891 in Gregorian (acc to G = I x 32/33 - 622). My idea is Aegean coast of Turkey. Any opinion is most welcome.

Martin,
I believe your guess is correct, as the floral engraving design on the blade is typical to yataghans and knives from Greece. Teodor |
Thanks Teodor

I agree with Theodor, that it is a greek knife made in the late 19th century.
I would say that it is made in Crete ,perhaps the casing is strange for Cretan knife. Could manufacturer an island of the Aegean. I think the Eftihis could say with confidence that has made. Stelios |
Thanks Stelio. Eftihis, if you can anything to add, you are most welcome.
