Montagnard Daab, Dha
12 Attachment(s)
I just picked up this Daab at auction; when I received it, unwrapped it, and got it in my hands, I was very impressed by the weight, balance, and potential chopping, slashing, and fighting capabilities of this weapon .The trained practitioner must have been very formidable with this sword !

Very interesting and elegant piece. I especially like the addition of the hand grip material, which makes it very obvious how it was used.
Nice get!! |
DIFFERENT AND ONE OF THE NICEST DHA I HAVE SEEN IN QUITE A WHILE. CONGRADULATIONS :) . WHAT ARE THE MEASURMENTS HANDLE, BLADE & TOTAL LEGNTH?
|
Thanks. The blade measures approx. 22" and 1.75 " at it's widest. The back of the blade measures approx. 5/16" at the base.Total length is 35".

Have to agree, one of the most impressive dha I've seen in quite some time! Congrats on a great piece. I can't recall seeing many (if any) with that tip style.
|
Yes, the tip threw me a little as well ; at first I thought it had been over sharpened, but upon using the "Vikingsword," search engine, I found a link which shows this very sharp and pointy configuration to be a characteristic of this blade.
