Welding points ?

My vote is possibly an old theatrical costume piece, very late 19th or earlier 20th century perhaps? There was a reasonable amount of theatrical armour produced in the 19th and earlier 20th centuries some of which wasn't all that badly done.

The welding poins are looking very similar to modern electric resistance welding points, as can be seen on automotive structures. A technique which became industrially common since the 1930s. Also the flutes on the helmets calotte are indicating a production on a modern metal spinning machine. Also I guess it is a modern helmet for theatrical use. In my opinion definitively not an authentic antique helmet - but still a nice object.
