I have bought one week ago this helmet and I have ask to a A Senefelder his opinion ,Allan wrote me that a very similar example was already discussed in http://www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewto...ght=casquettel .
With his help I was able to find A third similar example said to be “ English arquebusier pot circa 1630. May be some members are with documentation about this kind of helmet and will be able to tell me more… Any comments on it will be welcome Cerjak |

The hinges for the cheek plates are with similar design ..

Jean, notice that this one, while stylistically different in its decorative motif from the ones posted above also has the small holes running around its outter boarders like those above. I suspect this was perhaps for stiching in the liner.
