Swordholder ?

Does anyone know this type of object from Indonesia?
Probably a swordholder, or maybe a holder for an agricultural tool?

Hello Albert,

have a very similar holder, bought in Indonesia as sword holder from Java. Not sure if I can find it. When, I will post pictures but it look very similar.

Hello Albert,

IIRC this is for carrying an agricultural blade that doesn't lend itself for having a scabbard made. I seem to remember a curved blade (probably not an arit though) - will need to check...

Regards,
Kai

Hello Albert, The pictures are in the wrong format. You will have to redo them in jpeg or bitmap and then try to post them.

Regards,
Robert

Looks like it has already been done.:o

THERE IS AT LEAST ONE OLD POST ON THESE IN THE ARCHIVES BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER MUCH ABOUT IT BUT I HAD 3 EXAMPLES I WANTED IDENTIFIED.
HERE ARE 2 PARANG HOLDERS, THEY ARE WORN ON A BELT WHILE WORKING IN THE FIELDS. HERE ARE TWO EXAMPLES ONE FROM EAST JAVA AND THE OTHER ONE JAVA/ MADURA. I DID A BRIEF SEARCH BUT HAD NO LUCK FINDING THE OLD POSTS THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A PICTURE OF ONE BEING WORN AS WELL AS MORE INFORMATION.
THE LIGHTER COLORED ONE ON THE BOTTOM IS FROM EAST JAVA AND IS SITTING UPSIDE DOWN.
