Bishaq?

Hello, this one just ended http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
but was too early in the morning to get. Is it an example of a Turkish bishaq or some sort of kard?

It looks like an ottoman bichaq of 19th century. I was close to bid on it very high. BUT the photos are not good at all and the seller didn’t answer to my questions so I let it pass. I was very suspicious that it could be modern copy. I wish to the winner the best luck. If it is authentic he did a real good score!

I agree: pics are exceedingly bad. It is either a nice find or (IMHO) modern copy , perhaps even Cretan rather than Ottoman.

Yannis you were wise to pass. Although the form looks right, the blade and forte give me pause (from what I can see through the bad pictures).

BTW -- did you notice the handle of the winner? :D
