I know not really our subject but this one is coming up short on information from first hand dealer inspection or internet searches.
Its a European sidearm, possibly a Austrian experimental 1856 pattern...or is it? I've recently seen a book on Turkish uniforms and a illustration had a sidearm, in scabbard with an almost identical hilt. I didnt have the text to go with it, so no idea what the explanation was.
Any ideas?
65cm long, with sawbacked blade for about 2/3 length. No markings
Cheers
Andy
