VERY Interesting Thai or Burmese Knife For Sale

4 Attachment(s)
Here is a huge, wild looking Thai or Burmese knife, that looks as if it could be the giant cousin of a Dyak piso raut.

The knife is 23 inches overall, with a thick and heavy blade that shows signs of laminar construction. Clear, crisp inscription on the blade. Beautiful patina to the long, curved wooden hilt.

This is a very old knife, and most interesting.

$125.00 plus shipping.

Hi Charles. These are work knives. If I recall correctly, used to split rattan.

That's Burmese script on the blade.

Charles:

We have discussed these several times on the Forum. They are a large cousin to the pisau raut and used to split rattan. More commonly seen in N. Thailand/Laos than Burma.

Ian.
