HERE IS AN UNUSUAL SCABBARD FOR SOME FORM OF SWORD OR PERHAPS A POLEARM? IT IS OPEN THE ENTIRE LEGNTH ALONG THE TOP AND IS WOOD COATED WITH SOME KIND OF BLACK COVERING WHICH IS CRACKED BRITTLE AND FLAKEING OFF FROM AGE. IT IS 16 3/4IN. LONG, 4 I/2 INCH DEEP AND 3/4IN. WIDE AT TOP OPENING. I HAVEN'T SEEN A BLADE EXACTLY LIKE IT BUT SUSPECT EITHER AN INDIA KNIFE OR PERHAPS A KUDI TRANCHANG OF SOME SORT.
